Heledd Bianchi is a Welsh Actress, Voice Artist, Singer, Writer and Composer who has been working in the Theatre, Arts and Television industry for over twenty five years.
She is an eclectic performer who thrives on delivering performances through the realms of music, movement, poetry and story-telling. She equally enjoys performing and writing in both Welsh and English.
She graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen in 2000 with a BA Honours in Theatre Studies and went on to play the lead in the TIE tours of Garden Girls and Merched y Gerddi with Arad Goch Theatre Company.
In 2001 she flew to Ibiza to work as a children’s entertainer and compere at Fiesta Resorts, Cala Nova by day and as a featured stage dancer in Lucifer and Amnesia Nightclubs by night.
Between 2002 and 2013 she worked as Artistic Director, Actress and Co-Playwright for Theatr Bwcibo, a bi-lingual theatre company co-formed with her Writer, Director mother; producing predominently One Woman Shows. Stage productions included The One Road, Yr Un Cam, Catrin Glyndŵr (Welsh and English adaptation), Night Chronicles, Bei-Ling Burlesque, Living The Past, Byw’r Gorffennol, Do You Remember?, Bei-ling Burlesque 2012, Ifor Ap Meurig Y Dyn Dewr and Dwynwen Dylwythen Y Don A’r Corachod Bach Ffyddlon Y Tîr, Ffararararaldiri. The nature of Bwcibo shows ranged vastly in genres from medieval to musical theatre; poetry, music and dance at the core of their creations.
She was delighted in 2004 when the Actor, Director and Playwright, Huw Garmon chose to direct and co-write Catrin Glyndŵr – (One Woman medieval drama about the daughter of Owain Glyndŵr, Catrin who was incarcerated to the tower of London with her three children). The English adaptation of Catrin Glyndŵr toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Arundel Fringe Festival in 2005.
Between 2004 and 2013 Heledd also co-wrote, directed and performed in many bi-lingual theatre interpretations with Chance Encounters Heritage Theatre Company, run by Val Williams. She especially enjoyed playing the lead roles of Mary Christmas and Siân Corn in the musical theatre productions, Father Christmas And Friends, Siôn Corn A’u Ffrindie, staged at Oakdale Workmen’s Institute, National Museum Of Wales in 2013.
In 2013 Heledd produced Cerddi’r Teulu and Family Poems, to which the talented Musician/Composer, Pat Morris in 2015 would provide musical accompliment to.
Heledd then went on to produce further writing and performance work, including
A Disturbance In Lampeter Town, Audrey’s Pickle, Begw Broga Heb Dim Sane, Confessions Of A Cardiff Schoolgirl, Blemenge (Welsh), Silent Phone and Y Galwad Ffôn.
In 2014 Heledd performed several of her One Woman Acts, starring as the delightfully ditzy, yet bold, Miss Cherry Box at the variety nights – Unplugged in support of the talented dancer Stephanie Gawne (Foo Foo Labelle) and her dancing troupe – Cardiff Cabaret Club.
Between 2011 and 2016 Heledd worked as a Drama and Dance Facilitator, Story And Rhyme Time Leader and Swimming Coach for Menter Cardiff/The Vale and The Urdd, Cardiff/The Vale. She was the creator of Sblish Sblash Babis Dŵr (Swim A Singalong classes for babies and toddlers).
In 2015 Heledd collaborated with the Musician/Composer Pat Morris once more and produced the album Trywydd.
In 2016 Heledd performed in the short silent film – Miss Bloomingdale Gets Her Man, starring alongside the talented Performer and Writer Gareth Rosser. This was again another collaboration with Pat Morris, who directed the film.
In 2016 she completed the Snowdonia Marathon to raise money for Crewe Mental Health Services in Cardiff. Over the years she has also completed the Islwyn Half Marathon for the Noah’s Ark Appeal and the Three Peaks Welsh mountain challenge for the Tŷ Hafan Appeal. She enjoys a challenge. She’s a Mother of 7 children.
Her interests include eating sweets, watching and listening to drama in all its forms, walking with the family in the fresh air, dancing, singing, running, mountain climbing, ice skating, roller skating, horse riding and synchronized swimming. She occasionally gets a chance to play the violin and piano too.
In 2017 Heledd collaborated with the talented artists, Wyn Mason, Osian Gwynedd, Lloyd Macey, Kate Elis, Abigail Fitzgerald and Christopher Michael Young as an Actress, Writer and Composer on Leeway 10 minute Musical Theatre Productions, facilitated by the Director, Angharad Lee. The shows One More Day and Diweddgân were staged at
The Other Room, Cardiff. The Welsh Language production, Diweddgân also showed on the Theatr Y Maes stage at the National Eisteddfod, Anglesey, 2017.
Heledd’s Televison credits include the popular Welsh Language Soap – Pobol Y Cwm and popular Welsh Language Drama Series – Teulu and Parch.
